I am a brand new user, never used Pentaho BI before. I have put together a clean install of Fedora Core 3, using the default "server" options.
I dl'd pentaho-demo.zip, unzipped it, applied execute perms to the .sh files, and attempted to run start-pentaho.sh. This resulted in a stream of dialog where it lit, then shut down. The errors seem to mainly be about "Thread HSQLDB Server..."
I suspect that Pentaho requires some core components to be installed first, but I cannot determine what they are. I tried looking for a "README" file to give me a clue, but did not find one. I cannot find any sort of "quick start guide" on the site, either.
So, in short, what do I need to have installed on a basic FC3 server to use Pentaho BI?
This install will be purely for running Pentaho BI, so I'm willing to configure it in any wan needed.
