Basic question about publishing cubes

I have configured a publisher password, but I don't understand what the Server UserId and Server Password are or where they are configured.

Secondly, I don't understand the Web Publisher URL and how it relates to paths in the PCI.

If I use the default value for the Publish Location and Web Publish Url, the publish step creates no files in the samples/analysis folder and the preview step fails.

The serverid and server password is only used if are using the "Security" feature which is part of a Pentaho Subscription (Management Services). The web publisher URL really determines which pentaho server the report is getting published to. Is the pentaho server running locally?
