Hi,
here is an enhancement idea. I hope It's posted in the right place.
This enhancement is for Spoon, kettle's UI.
When doing mapping (renamming an element to another), one has to type in manually the name of the new name. A nice feature enhancement consists in presenting a combo box that enables getting the NextStepFields (as is currently done in TransMeta.getPrevStepFields, and by extension SelectValuesStep/SelectValuesDialog by getting the fields from the previous step.) This would prouve in the following Use Case:
One knows the format he will put his data in
He creates his step.
Creates the Input Step
Creates the output step.
Now every step followed by another step can be configured through this combobox (if relevent).Regards,
