Hi All!
I face competition from MicroStrategy in my job. The topmost used feature in MicroStrategy is the user ability to, alone, without going down to nuts and bolts, in a plain web interface, be able to create a new report. Does Pentaho allow this too? I have reviewed docs and demo I am not sure it can do it.
Just to make things a bit clearer, here is the scenario. User logs in and goes to his docs. But today he has a new demand, which a new report can answer: to combine using fields he has never before used, in a certain known way. Although he can see the same information using an OLAP cube, he needs to have a report, for the info he needs is always needed that way - it is not an investigation, it is a definite, frequent, regular need and OLAP would be a waste of resources not to mention time.
Thanks.
