Numeric prediction

Hi,

I've read a paper which says that Weka supports numeric prediction (something related to time series prediction), but I haven't found the classes referred in the paper for being responsible for this funcionality. So I'd like to know if Pentaho/Weka still supports numeric prediction. If yes, what classifier should be used?

Hi,

There are a number of methods in Weka that can handle data with a numeric target. Weka has multiple linear regression (with automatic feature selection), model trees (trees with linear regression functions at the leaves), support vector machines for regression, etc. just to name a few.

When you set the class attribute in the Explorer, you will get an indication of which methods are applicable to your data (i.e. the tree list shows applicable methods in black and non-applicable methods in red).
