Does anyone know if it's possible to create a dynamic pivot table of data using the report designer? If so can you point me in the right direction?

Crosstabs is still a experimental feature, scheduled to be reliable and usable when PRD 4.0 comes out (middle of this year). Until now, your best bet is to use the banded-mdx-datasources (Mondrian or OLAP4J)
