Differences between Classic and Flow Engine

Hi,

we are evaluating the Pentaho Community Edition and noticed that the development of the reporting engine has split into a classic and a flow branch. Is there a short overview of the differences between both, and what plans are there for the classic engine?

Well, to cut one long story short: Classic = active development, Flow = no change since 5 years.
