datasource issue

I want to set up a metadata datasource. I have a view in mysql database. I am able to establish a successful connection to the db. When I tried to create a new datasource via source type 'database tables'. I am not able to see the views. only table are displayed under 'Available Tables'. Is this expected behavior?

If I use a sql query as source type, then I can't add any filter to the interactive report. I got an error msg:
An unexpected error has occurred: SqlGenerator.ERROR_0002 - Failed to find path between two business tables


Any help is highly appreciated.
