Getting Schema Information Hangs forever...

Using Pentaho 4.0.0 and when we hit the Explore button - for the database connection the Screen comes up with the bars and reads getting schema information and then hangs forever... the connection tests OK - it is JDBC into an Oracle database

Any ideas? The id I am connecting with has quite a lot of privileges - although maybe there is an additinal one I need?

Knowing Oracle it's probably trying to download the complete Oracle database catalog, including system and sys tables and views. If your network isn't fast that can take a while.
As a possible solution I would limit the permissions of the user to only those tables and views that are actually needed.
