Default Dynamic Role Modification: how to do it in Saiku?

    Hello Forum,

I was finally able to apply the examples from chapter 8 of "Mondrian in Action", but then I realized that replacement of the MDXConnection class in order to set a custom Role for a Mondrian schema only works within Pentaho/Analysis.

What about Saiku? Is there a similar way to set a custom Role at run time so that access to the schema can be filtered based on "something" in the user session?

Is there anybody on this forum who did attempt to do so?

    Thanks,

    Stelvio.

Just a hunch, but I think what you're needing to do is set the shared mondrian instance configuration in Saiku. Look in pentaho-solutions/system/saiku for a script that renames some files to make the change. Basically the result is that the same instance of Mondrian used by the BI platform will be shared with Saiku, therefore your custom class should have the same effects in both OLAP browsers.

    Thanks Smoodo.

    I'll try that asap.
