For those who want to try the new web services plugin, I have upload a modified rc1 jar with the plugin inside. Just replace your rc1 kettle.jar with this one. Put the wsdl4j and qname jars in libext/webservices and your ok

I have made significant modifications to the webservice step this week :

- UI modifications to make it like other steps
- Metadata simplifications
- Proxy support
- Basic http authentication support

- Wsdl parsing improvment (based on wsdl4j)

As I cannot anymore access to the svn repository (my proxy admins don't want to open the 3690 port) I can't commit my code. So I've attached a zip file with all my work. You have to replace the old plugin version with this new one and add the two new jars.

I would like to put this new version in the 2.5.0 version (as an experimental step).

As I don't have acces to the svn, if somebody can build me a post rc1 version with this plugin it would be great as I can test the integration

Regards

Seb

Hi

I am working on the webservice step to simplify it because there was lot of prototype work that was obsolete.

I have also changed the parsing code. I am using beehive stuf and wsdl4j to make the parsing more generic.

My problem is that I don't have svn access to the new pentaho repository. I will make a patch when my work will be finish so you can include it into the repository.

I am welcome if you want to talk about the step

Hi Nick,

Samatar and Sebastien, the two Kettle devs in CC: seem to be working on the
Webservices stuff.
I'm sure you are welcome to join in on all the webservices fun ;-)

All the best,
Matt

I would have thought those were one in the same. 75% of the time, web
service is a SOAP call.

Huh...

Who is working on the webservice step?
