Question Status of Jobs in Kettle

    Hi,

Is there a way to get the status of jobs in Kettle?

I need to decide on which job to start based on the result of a previous job.

Also, Is there a way in which we can monitor the scheduled jobs in kettle.

    Thanks,
    VJ

you can encapsulate jobs in jobs and create a dynamic workflow like you described

you can monitor scheduled job executions if they are being executed on Carte (called via scheduler, but all jobs in there executed on a slave carte server)

Yes,encapsulating jobs within jobs will help.

I also have one mroe requirement. say for example, i'm scheduling five different jobs on day. I like to have the status of jobs stored in a database or file. So that I can refer to it for the reporting purpose.

Is there someone who have already done this?

    Thanks,
    VJ

    Yup...

I use the JobLogging / Audit function as described by http://wiki.pentaho.com/display/COM/...ional+Metadata

It also means that I can query against the Job Log table, for a report of the status of each of my transforms every day....
