Thread: Running Data Integration on Windows 7 64-bit

Question Running Data Integration on Windows 7 64-bit

    Hello guys,

Please forgive me if this question was already asked: the forum doesn't let me search on "windows 7" (7 is a too small word).

I can't get Data Integration to function on Windows 7 64-bit. When I start spoon.bat it quits with the error that it can't find javaw. I'm sure that I have the latest Java installed (6, version 17).

    When I open Kettle.exe, I can't edit database connections. I attached a screenshot.

Is there anyone who encountered similar problems?

    Any help is appreciated!

    Greets.

Shameless bump, just in case that the people that were on holiday and returned today, didn't notice this post yet.

As mentioned before on this forum, if you want to run on 64-bit Windows, make sure to install a 64-bit Java runtime environment.
Then make sure to grab a 64-bit swt.jar from eclipse.org.
Drop that file in libswt/win32 and most issues should be gone.

    Hi Matt,

    Thanks.

Apparently, when you install Java directly from the website, automatically the 32-bits version is installed. I noticed this just yet. I browsed the website and installed the 64-bits version, and now it works.

Thanks a lot for your assistance. See you in Lier on the 2nd of February?

Zo ja, tot dan (or in English: if yes, until then)

    Thanks again,

    Rick

Since I'm speaking on the subject of Agile BI & Kettle in general: most certainly.

    Tot dan!
