Pentaho evaluation for upcoming project.
We're potentially looking at implementing a system for management/analysis of some statistical information provided from a variety of sources.
I have a few concerns about some of the requirements and how they might be possible with the various Pentaho offerings:
• Manual user input - Potentially information will not be provided in xml, csv, or other valid format and will need to be entered manually into the system. I've not found any reference to forms or such that would normally be used for input.
Bespoke application which kicks off an ETL job?
• Data meta-data - Possible to version any data input/changed easily? This is for a change/audit history of data.
• Ability of user to view and manage simple calculations. MDX covers this? Other options?
• Support for business rules - I realise business rules could be implemented by a complex mix of data validators, etc. I'm simply wondering if there's a neater approach supported?
Any help/comments would be much appreciated!
