Hi there, I'm developing an internal Health & Safety reporting system, we have chosen Pentaho.

H&S events exist in a MYSQL database, and we want to generate around 30 different types of charts, ranging from basic to intermediate (all in chart format).
Most of the charts we will generate, involve grouping events, e.g the count of the number of events occurring (with a few conditionals) by the month, along the x axis, with the y-axis holding the the aggregate on a line chart. (for example).

It looks like I can ALMOST produce these charts using the simple web interface, but it doesn't let me "Group by" does this mean I have to use the Data integration tool to first group things, and then just simply use the dashboard to show that data?

I want my client to be able to specify a date range to scope the charts in on-the-fly, but how is that possible if i already transformed the data?
Having a bit of difficulty seeing how I'm going to execute what I want, I.E how the Data integration ties into the web interface e.t.c
How does the web interface grap the stuff I've transformed?
