Results from spoon different in report designer

I have a spoon transformation that runs perfectly fine in spoon. It generates a text file with a number of records in it (5224 records).

However, recently, when I try to use that transformation inside of report-designer I get very different results.

For instance, if I use the text file output step as my input I see zero records. As I trace the steps backwards earlier steps have more than previous steps but they all seem to have much fewer records than what I get in spoon.

Why am I seeing fewer records inside of report designer than spoon?

Report-designer using Spoon did seem to work last week. I've been tweaking my Spoon transformation since then and I thought that might invalidate report designers connection with it. So I tried starting a new report that connected to the spoon transformation, but this did not help.

I would like to demonstrate a report on Monday. I cannot figure out why the results from the spoon transformation are different when spoon is run versus when I have report designer attach to that transformation (on the last step). Any tips would be very welcome.

Where do I find the logging output from report-designer? I'm running on windows 7

Are you seeing a red "!" at the bottom right hand of the report designer? This may show what may be happening. Also, what version of spoon and report designer are you running? You may try copying the spoon's libext folder into the root of the report-designer install location. Then update the launcher.properties to include the folder... libraries=lib:lib/jdbc:lib/bigdata:docs:libext

Still wrong results after copying libext and including it in the properties file.

Currently I get two results which is way off.

It looks like only report-designer (by default) writes its log to that file. I tossed the file and started spoon up. The file was not generated. Spoon ran fine and the in-pannel logging (in the GUI) indicated no problems. I'm confused why report-designer thinks there is a Kettle Exception.
