Hi all,

Is there a CMS support in the platform ?
How was the portal build ?
A eclipse plugin allowing the design of webpages, giving the ability
to shape content, define components and aggregate them, would help
a lot interfacing end-users with the patform.

Thx for any answer.

Hi There,

I think I need a more detailed description of what you mean by CMS.

Today, there is no direct CMS support integrated into the platform, such as WebDav or CVS. We have plans for adding support for such content management. Watch our roadmap (http://www.pentaho.org/jira/roadmap.html), you should see that coming.

The content that is part of a Pentaho solution is managed by the engine, and there is an expected layout for those files, so following the Pentaho process, your content will be managed.

If you mean a CMS as in managing action sequences, UI, components, etc., see the answer to your third question.

The portlets included with the Pentaho demo are JSR168 compliant portlets, running under the JBoss Portal ver. 2.0.

A eclipse plugin allowing the design of webpages, giving the ability
to shape content, define components and aggregate them, would help
a lot interfacing end-users with the patform.

We have just recently released the third beta of the Pentaho Workbench, which is an Eclipse plugin application that allows you to easily build action sequences. You can download this plugin at http://www.pentaho.org/downloads/clients. We hope, with our Pentaho team and the help of our community, to grow the workbench into a tool much like what you have described.

best regards,
Gretchen

Hi Gretchen,
I've just tried the Eclipse plugin application that allows you to easily build action sequences - and it works fine.

But how can we create complete dashboards while the eclipse plug-in does not allowing the design of webpages, giving the ability
to shape content, define components and aggregate them?

What workaround to you recommend?

Best regards

We do not have designers yet for the dashboard controls or dashboards themselves. For now you will have to create XML files and use the samples in our demo as a starting point.
