Guilhem,

Thanks for your interest in our project. Let me address your questions individually.

(1) All of the reporting/analysis features are packaged in and delivered with the platform. However, the report creation can be handled by external tools such as the Pentaho Report Design Wizard. The first milestone build of the Report Design Wizard is also available on SourceForge at http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=140317.

(2) Connecting to the ProstgreSQL database requires creating a data source that points to the database and making the JDBC driver available to JBoss. High-level documentation for how to configure a data source can be found on Page 7 of the Pentaho Advanced Install Guide. Section 7.3 of the JBoss 4.0.2 Application Server documentation (www.jboss.org) contains more detailed instructions and indicates the existence of data source definition samples for PostgresSQL database connections.

This looks like the symptoms of a known issue in the 1.0.0 version. If the results of the query contain null values and the results of the query are the output of the action sequence, the platform throws NullPointerException. Try modifying your query such that null values are replaced by '0' or some other value. The fix will be in the next version of the platform.

Is this problem fixed in the current 1.1.1 Milestone build?

I'm asking because I'm getting a nullpointer exception doing a Mondrian query whose results are supposed to go into a report.

Thanks,
Hartley
