Hi -

I have a general question about deploying pentaho on my remote hosted Apache server, to be used for allowing website visitors to pull down specific charts, queries, reports, etc. from my existing MySql tables. After reading the forum, I've made some tweaks to point to MySql, but have yet to succeed in building an action sequence that delivers results. Si I guess there are two issues:

1) Setting pentaho up to run from a remote location (web host), and
2) Returning results from MySql

I've browsed the forum, and found some potential clues, but haven't seen anything quite on point for how I would take the demo and convert it for this purpose. BTW, the tools look extremely cool, and in many ways seem to compare favorably to Cognos ReportNet, which I have worked with through my "real" job.

Thanks for any help on this.

Ken

Thanks for the compliment and interest. I assume by "Apache" you mean "Apache Tomcat". Our Advanced Install Guide available from http://www.pentaho.org/downloads/ will help in the deployment. The Design Studio and Report Design Wizard (also available from http://www.pentaho.org/downloads are tools to aid in the creation of reports and the supporting business process. Each of the tools includes documentation that will help in your exploration.
