Ola!

I'am trying to use the pentaho BI Platform since one week and till now everything worked fine. Also installing the platform on a Tomcat5.5 and running my first own JFreeReport (designed with the Wizard RCP) is no problem.
Now i tried to generate a BIRT-Report using the Eclipse Plugin (Birt Report Framework 1.0.1). After embedding the report definition into an action sequence and invoking it, following exception occurs:

08:02:36,445 ERROR [[ViewAction]] Servlet.service() for servlet ViewAction threw exception

First I thougt it could be a version problem between the files produced by the report resign-plugin and the report engine used in pentaho. In my point of view the BIRT documentation eliminates this source of the error.

How should i try to detect the problem?

Okay, i suppose thats a problem with the version of the report-design-tool and the BIRT report engine used in pentaho.
