Hi,

borders around header or footers are defined using the <rectangle> element with x=0; y=0; width=100% height=100%; draw=true and fill=false.

The text elements are not yet able to grow dynamicly. Next version will include such elements, but the current release does not support that feature.

Hi,

yes, we officially support the dynamic content now.

To enable that feature, set the dynamic stylekey to true:

Element.getStyle().setBooleanStyleKey(ElementStyleSheet.DYNAMIC, true);

The element will grow to fit the content up to a possibly defined maximim size.

In the simple XML profile, you can simply add the attribute "dynamic" to your element and set that attribute's value to "true":

<string-element ... dynamic="true">

And for the extended report definition, define the stylekey:

<element ...>
<style>
<basic-key name="dynamic_height">true</basic-key>
...
</style>
...
</element>

To have a border around a dynamic element, you will have to put the element and the border shapes into a subband, and then define the height and witdth of the shapes to be 100%.

A subband can be defined with the <band> tag, see the "cards" example for more details on how to define them.
