Hi
I am trying to use oracle procedures to save business objects. the kettle always throws an error at the DB call portion of the file with the error

"because of an error, this step can't continue'

Could you let me know where the log is stored, how do i look at what the error actually is ?

Thanks & Regards
Raj

Hi Raj,

A wide variety of possible errors can be the cause of this.
What is the error reported in the logging window?

There should be a cause after "because of an error this step can't continue: ORA-1234 : Some stupid Oracle error".

Check:
1) Don't specify return value when calling a procedure
2) Check the number of arguments of the procedure

As far as logging is concerned, when running in Spoon, the logging is shown in the "Log View" tab.
After a failed run, click on "Show Error lines" to see the errors.
Filter on certain words in the log view with "Log Setting" / "Select Filter".
Put ORA there to get the Oracle error.

Good luck!
Keep me posted if after all this it still doesn't work. After all, there are only SO many things that can be tested with Procedures.
