I am unable to run Chef as the JVM Launcher throws fatal error. The CPU usage of javaw.exe shoots up to 98%. Then I need to kill the process.

Any inputs or is it local issue ?

Mmm, that one is new...
Maybe the VM is core dumping or something?

Try to remove kettlew from your favorite shell script (Chef.sh, Chef.bat?)
Put java in place and put a pause or readline behind it.
If there is a stacktrace, please send it over.

Can you tell me something about the version of the VM, platform, etc?

Thanks,

Matt

Hi Matt,

I tried what you suggested by modifying the chef.bat file with no luck. Using Java instead of kettlew took me one step further. It showed me the kettle logo and then java died.

Unfortunately, neither gave me a stacktrace.

I then downloaded the 2.2.2 jar and replaced the old one with it and Chef started working - java as well as kettlew
