View Full Version : Subversion or CVS for kettle repository?

Has there been any consideration for extending the concept of repository beyond JDBC to use a version control system? Here I'm referring to the stored location of kettle transformations, not the kettle source code.

It seems like a natural fit since the transformations are serializable to XML.

I'd like to thank you very sincerely for the work you have put into Kettle. This will make my life much easier.

No, but now that you mention it ... ;-)
I guess we could do it with the JavaSVN lib (http://tmate.org/svn/)
However, we would have to provide an interface to the API which would probably be a lot of work too.

Simplified circumvention: Check in/out your transformations in the file system (e.g. TortoiseSVN).
