Is there any way that value there could be a value type added for just Object, or is there a way that i could extend it? I want one step to attach some of my own object to a row that another could use.

Thanks.

Hi William,

That is an excellent question. And the answer is no, not yet I'm afraid.

The basics can be set up pretty easy I guess by implementing the ValueInterface and adding the newly created ValueObject to the list of Number, String, Integer, Date, Boolean & BigNumber.

It's similar to the work that lies ahead to implement ValueBinary (byte[] to transfer BLOBs from one database to another)

It is a lot of work to make sure all steps understand the values. Take a look at tracker nr 1644 (http://www.javaforge.com/proj/tracker/itemDetails.do?task_id=1644&navigation=true) for more details.

I hope this answers your question.

Cheers,

Matt

PS. I'm sure that under certain conditions, you can cheat using JavaScript and add the values anyway. The Row.add(Object) method is deprecated but still works ;-), same for public Object get(int i)...
