Hello lionel,

I have been using Kettle for now 2 months and every 10 min i schedule Kettle Jobs which connect to oracle (10) database.

I don't have any pb. :)

In fact,
i use the IP adresse in the server hostname et the next ..is like you..

This is not a Kettle problem but I'll take a stab at it anyway:

1) ping the specified host name
2) see if the port is indeed 1521. Some companies like to mess with this and set it to 1525 or something other.
3) verify the database name

Last 2 settings can be checked if you have entries in TNSNAMES.ORA. In that case issue command "tnsping SID-SERVICENAME" and you'll get the connection detailes.

HTH,
Matt

Thank you for your answer ,
I made a mistake between service and tnsname

Now it's OK
