Hi there,

I need to write some plugins. Being new to kettle, there seems to be no documentation on how to do this. The Dummy Plugin does not come with and docs or source to explain what is needed and what is not. Any chance of their being a tutorial/document on how to write a plugin?

thanks

John

John,

There is no turorial, but I bet you could figure it out.
You just need the 4 classes implementing the 4 interfaces as shown in DummyPlugin. Then change the icon and point to your own class in plugin.xml and you're done.

Please check the StepMetaInterface javadoc for advances features such as sending rows of data to a named target step.

And... if anyone wants to volunteer to write a complete tutorial, be my guest ;-) I just don't have the time right now. It will have to wait otherwise.

All the best,

Matt
