View Full Version : Chart define series, category, value

I'm creating charts for dashboards in Pentaho (1.6). I have no issue
creating charts that use Category and Values --- basically you Select 2 things and graph them out.
This seems to be all of the examples that come with the PCI.

But when I try to create a chart that uses Series, Category, and Values where the Series exists as data in the column (such as setting the SeriesColumn flag in JFreeReports) it doesn't display correctly.

I've confirmed the order of my query (Series, Category, Value).
I've played with different orientations.

Any suggestions?

Nevermind. I found the samples Solution Browser / Samples / Chart Examples / Chart Samples Dashboard

Sorry about the wasted bandwidth.

I have a similar problem with charts. I want to create a linechart which shows the sales for each month for each year. The result sould looks like the drawn chart at the attachment.

I found no example at the pentaho samples.

Have somebody a suggestion?

You can try using a time series chart, however, the picture you sent implies two range axes, one for sales and one for year - this is not supported int he time series chart type. The years would become your series, the months your domain axis values, and sales your range axis values. There is an example of a dashboard time series chart in the samples dashboard for charts.

kind regards,
