Anyone with any suggestions? I checked manual deployment, but it does not seem to support sql server - is that true?

I am new to Pentaho and looking to get acquianted with the software. So far from what I read I was not sure if Pentaho will work as MS SQL Server as a repository. If it does work can someone advice on how do I use it ( I dont mind reading if someone can throw a few links too).

Also, with SQL Server do I need to use IIS or JBOSS will do the job?

Thanks!!

While Pentaho does not create a Microsoft SQL Server-ready deployment (as we do for MySQL), our users have had success running Pentaho with SQL Server: http://forums.pentaho.org/showthread.php?t=27367. IIS is not required however the Pentaho BI Server requires a Java servlet container such as Tomcat or JBoss.

Pentaho is a huge system with many components, each doing specific tasks . You need to pick a starting point.

I'm also taking my babcy steps with Pentaho, but my suggestion is that visit the forum and use the search facility a lot.

Here's a recent thread I can point to : http://forums.pentaho.org/showthread.php?t=58490

The WIKI is also an excellent resource.
