Hi All

Currently i am designing a business model in metadata editor,and i need to create some calculated variables , and i guess i can achieve this through metadata formulas option~

Now suppose i have to create a variable...

S_CNT which is based on the formula

S_CNT=count(status_cd) over ( partition by plan_name, status_cd )

Steps that i am following now are...

1.I have added a new numeric variable in my database view S_CNT(SAY) in meta data editor
2. Then i am editing the variable, and in the FORMULA option i am trying to place
"over(count([status_cd]));( partition by [plan_name], [status_cd] )"

I am getting errors...its not working for me...
Also the error is not so specific...so i am not getting a clear insight where i am going wrong

Now my question is

1.can we define this kind of formulas in metadata editor?
2.am i writing the correct syntax?

Please help me

Thanks in Advance
Amit

Hi Smoking humble guy Amit,

First off: don't send me private emails as duplicates of what you put on the forum.
Second: the possibilities of formulas up to the very latest version are documented on the wiki.

sounds like you need to tick the "is formula exact" option. then it should get passed through to the db correctly.

thanks for your reply,

I checked that option already

I got one success in defining a formula..
but still i have to define some more complex formulas like i mentioned in my first thread

Thanks

Can anybody please help me, if we can use negative numeric values in pentaho meta data editor formulas?

e.g [X]<=91 works

but [X]<=-91 does not work

Thanks
