For those people starting with Kettle (http://kettle.pentaho.org) (Pentaho Data Integration) we created a Getting Started (http://wiki.pentaho.com/display/EAI/Getting+started) page on our Wiki.
Since I realized that for some people, simple and easy can never be simple and easy enough I created 8 mini-flash demos :

Create a new transformation - create a stephttp://wiki.pentaho.com/images/icons/linkext7.gif (http://www.kettle.be/swf/Create%20transformation%20-%20create%20step.htm) (flash demo, 0′20″)
Create a hop between 2 stepshttp://wiki.pentaho.com/images/icons/linkext7.gif (http://www.kettle.be/swf/Create%20a%20hop%20between%202%20steps.htm) (flash demo, 0′20″)
Create a database connectionhttp://wiki.pentaho.com/images/icons/linkext7.gif (http://www.kettle.be/swf/Create%20a%20database%20connection.htm) (flash demo, 0′45″)
Read a CSV filehttp://wiki.pentaho.com/images/icons/linkext7.gif (http://www.kettle.be/swf/Read%20a%20CSV%20file.htm) (flash demo, 1 minute 0′20″)
Write to a database tablehttp://wiki.pentaho.com/images/icons/linkext7.gif (http://www.kettle.be/swf/Write%20to%20a%20database%20table.htm) (flash demo, 1′00″)
Name and describe a transformationhttp://wiki.pentaho.com/images/icons/linkext7.gif (http://www.kettle.be/swf/Name%20and%20describe%20a%20transformation.htm) (flash demo, 0′40″)
Execute a transformationhttp://wiki.pentaho.com/images/icons/linkext7.gif (http://www.kettle.be/swf/Execute%20a%20transformation.htm) (flash demo, 1′20″)
Debug a transformationhttp://wiki.pentaho.com/images/icons/linkext7.gif (http://www.kettle.be/swf/Debug%20a%20transformation.htm) (flash demo, 1′00″) http://www.kettle.be/images/debug-frame.png (http://www.kettle.be/swf/Debug%20a%20transformation.htm)
The idea is that you get an idea of how things work in under 10 minutes.
Let me know what all y’all think. If there are videos/flash demos you like to share, please please feel free to let me know!
Until next time,
Matt
