I have several talks I could give:
1. schema changes in mondrian-4.0 (some big stuff coming... hopefully it will be ready by Sep 19)
2. mondrian writeback (also known as scenarios)
3. realtime BI with SQLstream and mondrian

I can keep 'em brief (say 20 minutes) and if you want more details you can find me in the tapas bar...

Dynamic Clustering demo
The new repository plugin system + the versioning repository (4.0.0-M1)
Logging improvements (4.0.0-M2)
Or simply "What's new in PDI 4.0"

From the Pentaho suite is the Weka component, the component that is not understood by a lot of people.

Could we find some one that could give a presentation of what can be achieved with this tool based on a demo.

I talked my boss into flying me out as long as I can present. I might have skimmed over the fact that I'd be presenting to a bunch of drunken mates, but what he doesn't know... ;)

Some presentations I'd like to give if there is interest:

1. "Clear cut logging for fun and profit" or, Clustered Kettle processing of high volume log files (Matt, let me do this easy one, I entreat you to give a really good demo of several different real world use cases for partitioning)
2. "Kettle, no Threads attached" -- a prototype Kettle engine running with Kilim (http://www.malhar.net/sriram/kilim/) (This might bomb out if my prototype ends up working as well as the car engine fueled by water. ;)
3. "We don't need no stinking plugins!" Demo of the new User Defined Java Class plugin -- Type up some Java code inside a Kettle step, and it will be compiled at runtime. No GUI to fret over, no classpath to muck with, just native speed code.

Also, with me being there, Pedro and I can show off a lot of fun Mozilla data stuff. (He probably already did last year and just made you guys promise not to tell me, right?)

Hi!

Anyone interested in giving a presentation in Barcelona this year, can you please sign up here(keep this thread on topic, I'll be editing junk out :D ), just leave your name and presentation topic(s) and depending on the uptake we'll collate a list/vote for the presentations that we'll see on the 19th Sept.

Excellent Idea! I'd be honoured to present. I've got materials prepared for a "practical kettle examples" presentation:

#1
+ Importing *really hairy* text data from the internet movie database.
+ Importing heavily structured XML data into multiple database tables
+ Exporting data from multiple database tables into a heavily structured XML document

Some ideas I could prepare, in case someone is interested:

#2
+ Visualizing kettle transformations in HTML documents (through XSLT)

#3
+ Developing a custom CDF component (I have an example plugin to add sound to dashboards, and I could develop one to add timed events). But perhaps the recent work on CDF already supercedes this?
