hi,

We have set up pentaho as a test for a poc. We normally use the cognos 8.4 environment.
We are using the metadata editor and found 5 field types for columns: fact, attribute, other, dimension, key
In Cognos Framework Manager there were only 3: indentifier, fact, attribute.
When we link a fact table to a dimension table, which field types do we need to use? which type of field type we need to use for the dkey of the fact table and which type is set for the dkey in the dimension table. which type is used for the other columns in the dimension table.

kind regards

Hi,

Is there anyone who can give a little explanantion about the field types of the columns of the importated tables? Would really be appreciated, so we can continue our proof of concept...

I have been working with Pentaho Metadata Editor for a while now without using filed types. Not sure what this is for. You might whant to take a look at this video (http://www.pentaho.com/products/demos/PME_and_RD/PME_and_RD_controller.swf).
