Default Starting jobs from Carte on localhost - how?!?

We're running Carte on localhost on Windows 7 using:
    Code:
    Carte.bat pwd\carte-config-master-8080.xml
How do we start a job from Carte? We tried:
    Code:
    http://localhost:8080/kettle/startJob/?name=SendHyperionDataRmtCall&send_company=3
    , but no dice:
The specified job [SendHyperionDataRmtCall] could not be found

Strangely enough we can run tasks in a similar way just fine (instead using executeTrans/?trans=).

We're obviously missing something, but after a day of trying we still don't have a clue.
It would appear that kettle(?) doesn't know where to look for the jobs, which is described in %HOME%/.kettle/repositories.xml. In the documentation there is some suggesting that this file needs to be copied somewhere. But where?!? Or is that only relevant for remote carte servers?

Carte only accepts work from the outside world. So you have to run a Kitchen job to run on Carte (Trans/Job job entries, remote execution option).

But isn't accessing it through an URL just that, work from the outside world???

The problem is that we can't use Kitchen: Pentaho will/can not be installed on every system that needs to be able to start the job. For example, one of our scenario's is to start a job from an AS/400 menu.

Alban, you can start/stop/monitor a job remotely using URLs and you can even post the whole job to Carte if you know the XML format (JobConfiguration.getXML()). But Carte itself doesn't know where your files are stored, whether or not you're using a repository, nothing.
It's designed this way for grid/cloud computing, high availability and what not.
From version 5.0 Carte will support plugins so I suspect folks will connect it to a repository using some other service. I'm not actually against that, I'm just telling you how it is.
