    Question Change in Naming Conventions

    Hi,

What's going on at the moment is that database 1 has a different naming convention compared to database 2. Is there any way that I can get them to comply with each other without having to match both naming conventions?

Eg. Database 1 has firstname but database 2 has first_name. It's extremely complicated to change all the naming conventions now. Is there a way to connect them? Because when I try to connect them, Spoon keeps wanting me to drop all different naming attributes and change them to be the same.

    Thanks in advance

    Hi,

about how many columns are we talking? Is there any kind of algorithm (e.g. all words separated by "_") which can be used for replaced.

Otherwise I don't think that there is a chance to automate this sort of mapping.

    Hi.

There are 28 columns. Well, for example, Database 1 has birthdate, whereas Database 2 has date_of_birth. So I was thinking if I can specify that the rows in birthdate for Database 1 have to be integrated with the rows in date_of_birth for Database 2. I tried to edit the mappings but it still insists on changing the SQL for Database 2 for it to work.

You can rename birthdate to date_of_birth in the "select values" step or in the "Table output" step in the tab "Database Fields"
