Default Unecessary database connections in job/transformation

I just had an error crop up in a job that I developed in Spoon, when I migrated it to my UNIX development server.

I had specified a database connection in Spoon for logging errors, and set up the database for this purpose, just
    to test it.

The UNIX development server does not have this database set up, so I removed the connection information in the
    job settings and transformation settings.

The job failed because a kettle.properties variable was not defined on the UNIX development server, so I looked
at the XML file for the job and transformation definitions, and found that every database connection configured in
Spoon gets copied to the XML file, even if it is not being used.

How can I get rid of this connection information, since I don't want it in these files when I migrate them to UNIX?

I suggest you open the options dialog from the tools menu and play with the option "Only save used connections to XML".
So long, and thanks for all the fish.

That appears to be exactly what I am looking for.

    Thanks!
