Default Merge Rows (Diff) - Does not report changed - 4.2.0-stable

Merge Rows (Diff) - Does not report "changed" - 4.2.0-stable

Hello. Is anyone else getting this problem? I looked thru reported issues, but did not find any reference to this. Is there another tool that does something similar that people are using. Thanks, David Link, Irvington, NY

    Given these inputs:

    one.csv
    --------
    key,value
    1,one
    2,two
    3,three

    two.csv
    ---------
    key,value
    1,one
    2,verydifferenthere
    4,four

    Gets the following output:
    out.csv
    --------
    key,value,flagfield
    1,one,identical
    2,two,identical
    3,three,deleted
    4,four,new

the (3) record should be 'changed' and should give the changed value: 'verydifferenthere'

I don't agree with your expectation for the output. The value for key "2" has definitely changed from "two" to "verydifferenthere". Key "3" doesn't exist in the second set so it is flagged as "deleted" and key "4" has been added so it is "new".

This is what I get and I believe it to be correct based on your two sets of input.

    key value flagfield
    1 one identical
    2 verydifferenthere changed
    3 three deleted
    4 four new

Did you mean: "the (2) record should be 'changed' and should give the changed value: 'verydifferenthere'"?

If so, in the Merge Rows (diff) step did you put your "value" field in the "Values to compare:" box on the right side of the step configuration?

That was the ticket, Thank you Darrell. I mistakenly placed the "key" values in both list input boxes. I neglected to see the term "values" in the second.

I had assumed "all values" was the behavior.

(As you pointed out, I meant row (2). Sorry for the confusion, there.)

    Thank you again.
