Default Logging on Spoon is limited by...?

so, I only now remembered to ask around here about this. Sometimes I leave something running when I get off work, and when I get back the next day, log stopped while job is still running.

    Like, today:
    Code:
    2012/09/18 01:16:48 - transformation name - Loading transformation from XML file [file:///Y:/Pentaho/transformation name.ktr]
2012/09/18 01:16:48 - transformation name - Dispatching started for transformation [transformation name]
    2012/09/18 08:39:40 - Finished job entry [job step] (result=[true])
    2012/09/18 08:39:40 - Job execution finished
how can I know, without using an external log file, what happened between 1:16am and 8:39am?

ps: job was running since 8:47pm, yesterday.
pps: entries of 8:39 showed up because I've stopped the job.

Check variables such as KETTLE_MAX_LOG_TIMEOUT_IN_MINUTES in the kettle.properties editor. They influence how many rows are kept in memory and how long.

just checked. on the description it says it's 0 by default, but mine was set to 5000.

Both KETTLE_MAX_LOG_SIZE_IN_LINES and KETTLE_MAX_LOG_TIMEOUT_IN_MINUTES were set. the first to 5000 and the second to 1440...
