Default Embed Mondrian in my existing web application

    Hi,
I want to embed Mondrian in my existing web application, and then specifically on the server side, so my idea is to locate/place the mondrian jar in my webapps WEB-INF/lib.

Is this possible and what dependencies on other jar files does Mondrian have?
Is there a runtime api I can call to let Mondrian create its tables?

    Hi Martin!

Yes it's possible. Usually modnrian-xx.zip contains mondrian.war file in the lib folder. There you can find all jars under WEB-INF/lib, that are used by mondrian (mondrian.jar included). So you simply have to copy them to your WEB-INF/lib folder.

This tutorial gives a good start point for coding: http://olap4j-demo.googlecode.com/sv...erspective.pdf

But as far as I know there is no special java library to design a mondrian schema from code. So you have to use one of the xml-generating apis or create your schema manually.

    Best regards, Michael!

Thanks for the answer! One more question, I would like to run mondrian server side completely and connect my own UI to it (http://www.smartclient.com). Is there a list of minimal dependencies I can use for only server side usage?
Currently I include jars which seem to be more related to the user interface side also.

    gr. Martin
