Thread: CDA file getting deleted

    Default CDA file getting deleted

    Hi
I created a CDA file with name "test" and then created a CDE dasboard with same name "test" and store in the same location as cda, the CDA file was deleted...
On the pentaho solution, test.cda is no longer available...only files present test.wcdf and test.cdefe...
    What caused the problem?

By design, when you add a datasource in CDE it automatically generates a CDA file for you. So if you want to maintain a separate .cda file (why would you?) give it a different name

Any reason that you delete the CDA file if it already exists?
The reason we have a separate CDA file is something that can be shared across dashboards. For our business users we keep CDA file ready for use and in dashboard they just point to the CDA file.

I don't create datasources from within CDE, but I could see designing the dashboard, generating the cda file then moving it later and referencing it from other dashboards, reports, etc as a RAD technique.

Rahuls: You may want to reconsider your directory structures.
