Question Text Input - CRLF in field

I have the unpleasant task of dealing with a pipe delimited file which has some CRLF within some fields. My experience so far is that the Text Input step will not honor the enclosure regarding CRLF? I am using UNC paths so the CSV input is not ideal (for which it does honor the enclosure).

I tried searching for more info but does anyone have a work-around for CRLF inside fields?

Kettle doesn't support Windows specific UNC URL's.

You answered your own question: Don't use UNC in this case.

By mapping the share to a local drive letter, you can trick Kettle into believing it is dealing with a local file, thus avoiding the dreaded "For performance reasons, this step only supports reading from local files\!".

Works perfectly with CSV Input step, when fields containing linebreaks are involved.
So long, and thanks for all the fish.
