Default PDI or Power Center - How to Control User Access??

    Hello all,

I’m testing the PDI to replace Informatica Power Center to upload (after treating) data from several sources to our application.

Would anyone of you guys know if we could have user control access to the PDI? Would it be integrated to Active Directory somehow?

By the way, would anyone know if there is any documentation comparing PDI to Power Center?

    Thanks in advanced.

User control access would not be high on the ETL wishlist. Unless you mean anything else than I suspect. As a former Powercenter specialist I find a lot of similarities between both tools. PDI is more intuitive and excels at fast development. Powercenter is more complex, but has better facilities for monitoring, administration and integrated version control. Both stand miles above, say, SSIS I know no other comparitive documentation sources other than Gartner. Need to know something specific?

The Enterprise Edition of PDI has user control access in the EE Repository and since PDI 4.4 also the PDI Operations Mart for log monitoring. More monitoring features are on the road map.
further information around user control access can be found here:

What's new in PDI 4.4, see "PDI Operations Mart" over here: http://kettle.bleuel.com/2012/11/06/...new-in-pdi-44/
