Default Transformation did not stop after exception "Connection timed out".

Hi, I am using Pentaho more than a year.. version 4.2.1 stable.
Couple a weeks ago, we had some problems with data base connections. During the sync connections was lost for 1 second, exception was raised during the sync process. But it did not stop the transformation. The transformation says that "Cannot initialize at least one step" and continued to work with all the rest. At the end sync says that all processed.

When testers was checking the results, there was no data in target tables.

I believe that this case should be caught as error and transformation needed to stop.

Is it possible to control this case?
