Default Java Heap Out of Spac

    Hi,

We are running Pentaho Job via kitchen.bat, There we are facing the "Java Heap Out of Space" Error. If we run the same job through spoon in GUI, It went fine. I am unable to understand what is happening behind the sense. Can any one help, Please.

    Thanks,
    Maruthi Chava.

    Thanks Basavaraja,

But we have taken care in all aspects. We have the 32 bit machine. In which the max heap size is 1gig. We modifed the sppon.bat and environment variables to run the job in spoon, then the spoon went fine. While running the job through Kitchen.bat only we are facing the Issue.

Did you modify Kitchen.bat to 1gig?

    Thanks,

If your job uses a lot of memory and has loops, then that might contribute to your out-of-memory issues. We have a job that grabs a tar bundle of extract files, unzips the bundle, processes the files into the database, and then looks for the next tar bundle. Usually, there is only one bundle to process, because we have one bundle per business day, so the job ends after one pass through the loop. However, if we ran loads for more than 8 days or so in a row, then we can get out-of-memory issues.

If your job doesn't have loops, then this won't apply to you, but I thought it worth mentioning.
