Unhappy Created XMI but cannot see datasource in Ad Hoc Report Designer

So I have created an XMI file and placed it into a solutions folder, but when I go to create a new Ad Hoc report on my BI server nothing shows up. I assume there is more to publishing an XMI file than just placing it in a solutions folder. Does anyone know how to do this through the Webservices or Pentaho Java API? I do not want to use PME for this. If anyone has any information it would be a great help.

Figured it out. I had been putting my XMI file into a solutions folder such as /pentaho-solutions/Solution1/Analysis/file.xmi, I did not realize that I needed to put this xmi file into the /pentaho-solutions/admin/resources/metadata folder. Once I did that and refreshed my PUC the file showed up in the ad hoc report creater.
