    Hi all.

In Kettle there is a tool to run any Job/Transformation - Kitchen. You probably have a Kitchen.bat file to run it. This bat file simple look for JVM installed, then - it runs Kitchen class, pass parameters there - and as a result shows exit code 1-9 to illustrate execution result.

If you have a job or transformation file, you can simple open cmd.exe / console, navigate to folder with .bat for .sh file, type smth like in command line:
    Kitchen.(bat/sh) --file=path_to_file

it will perform job/transformation run once.
Then - if you want to schedule this task - you can use any OS scheduler - cron/windows scheduler. You may try to google 'how to schedule bat file execution' for win:
    https://www.google.by/search?q=run+b...scheduled+task

    also look also: http://wiki.pentaho.com/display/EAI/Kitchen+User+Documentation

This way you will not need any enterprise
    frippery
    stuff.

If you use Windows, you can create schedule a Job in Windows environment using "Windows Task scheduler"
