Question How to validate a csv file data with the pree-defined metadata

    Hi folks,
I am banging my head in order to achieve a rather simple thing.

I have a csv file with say hundred records.

I have a predefined metadata structure.

How can I validate whether my incoming CSV file data is in accordance with the pre-defined metadata structure in PDI 4.4.

    Please help.

If you use a Text File Input to load the data and it fails, then your file has the wrong metadata structure.

Thanks mike for your prompt reply.

Actually I guess I couldn't make you understand my question.

    Let me try again.

I have a csv file with hundred rows and 10 columns.

I have another csv file where client has provided the metadata for those 10 columns.

While loading the input csv file in the database, I have to first test whether the input data is in sync with the metadat provided by the client in another csv file.

I am trying in metadata injection step and few other options but to no avail.

    Please help!

You can easily avoid resp. minimize misunderstandings by preparing some sample files.

ETL Metadata injection isn't available for Text File Input in Kettle 4.4
So long, and thanks for all the fish.
