    Default Using the Pentaho Reporting Output step

    Hi everyone, im new with the tool and i came here for advice.

    So i have a Transformation that gather information from two tables and dumps it into a diferent Excel Files depending on a value, then i send the files to their respectives user via e-mail.

    This is my Transformation and is working great.

    The thing is that now my client is asking for a PDF file instead of a XLS.

    I been reading about the Pentaho Report Designer, and as i understand, i can make a report that gather the information by itself, so my Transformation just need to send the parameters to the report.

    but i got to ask, is this the correct form or is any other way to tackle this problem?

    If you have only 7 block of data, it's fine.
    For more than that, I would create a more complex structure, using Jobs and transformation and I would pass the REG as a variable with PDI looping as many time as there are REGs.
