Thread: Can't save Dashboards

    Default Can't save Dashboards

    Hi community,

I just downloaded BI Server CE 5.0.1 yesterday and I installed CDF, CDA, CDE, CDG via marketplace.

Now it occurs that when I open a new CDE Dashboard and try to safe it nothing happens. The save dialog pops up, and I can enter a file name and everything but when pushing the ok button, it doesn't do anything.

    The log file says following:

    Nov 21, 2013 10:03:35 AM com.sun.jersey.spi.container.ContainerResponse mapMappableContainerException
Schwerwiegend: The RuntimeException could not be mapped to a response, re-throwing to the HTTP container

Must be some repository problem. With Bi Server 4.8 everything still works fine.

    Hi all,

indeed there was an issue with CDE dashboard saving in Windows OS.
A fix has already been made, you just need to update CDE.

If you're using marketplace, you just need to uninstall & reinstall it (don't forget to restart your biserver afterwards).

    Best regards,

Thanks, the file is saved. Only when creating dashboards on the tab does not appear his name.
Also, the component "OLAP MDX query" does not work correctly. When choosing scheme can not be select a cube (the list of cubes is empty). He worked only the first time when I tried it. But then he did not be able to display data on a simple request (show error).

I too have the same problem .. running W7 in machine , jdk 7, and when I try to save nothing action happened ....

Is this versions problem ? Is comparability needed for TRUNK and stable ?
    CDE version : TRUNK-SNAPSHOT (TRUNK)
    CDF Version : 5.0.1-stable (TRUNK)
    CDA version : TRUNK-SNAPSHOT (TRUNK)

In 4.8 Pentaho server, In market place it is showing TRUNK and stable but not showing up in 5.0 market place ?

Solved the problem by upgrading the CDE plug-in.
    Now the dashboard saved.

    Thanks forum

Upgrading CDE worked for me aswell. Now I'm able to save my dashboards.

    Thank you for the update!

Although the fix appeared permanent, on my end the problem still exists, with a twist - I'd like to share it, perhaps a similar issue also emerges for others.
Upon reading the thread I attempted the fix, and it indeed worked for me for about two dashboards' worth. After the fix I had no problem creating a whole dash, but when I started the second one, the error showed itself again.

    The log as follows:
SEVERE: The RuntimeException could not be mapped to a response, re-throwing to the HTTP container

..So, basically it is the same, with the
exception while determining access for file with path
    addition.
I basically did what joao.ciocca said above, the following paragraph is just a detailed description.

The marketplace indeed shows CDE to be upgraded.
Try to upgrade, upgrade fails, error log complains about a few files that can't be deleted. Fine.
I will then uninstall the whole thing. Uninstall also failed. Fine.
    Erase files manually.
Following Pedro Alves' description (http://pedroalves-bi.blogspot.pt/201...lable-cdf.html) I reinstall manually all Ctools components. Manual installation is successful, although PUC's file browser says "file upload unsuccessful" but the new directories are there anyways.
Restart server, Marketplace shows all Ctools up-to-date, but CDE.
After all, I just manually installed all components, so it should be up-to-date?! I hit upgrade anyways, and it upgrades without a problem.
Restart server, Marketplace YET AGAIN shows CDE needs an upgrade. I let it be.
I go ahead to create a new dash, obviously can't save. But now also can't connect to cubes, the dashboards became absolutely compromised.

Good housekeeping: Win server 2008R2, Java 7, 64 bit.

Anyone still experiencing the problem, let alone the "determining access for file with path..." error? Anyone have a suggestion? Anyone can perhaps tell me the CDE version I should have? According to marketplace, Trunk-snapshot is NOT the one.

    Thank you.

well, I'm currently running CDE manually installed from file pentaho-cdf-dd-TRUNK-SNAPSHOT, the timestamp of the folder inside the zip file is 02/12/2013 9:12am...

Fell back to an unmodified, original version of biserver 5.0.1. Just finished upgrading/installing everything from the marketplace again.
CDA, CDF, CGG all had a timestamp from yesterday, CDE had a timestamp from earlier today (‎12/‎4/‎2013 ‏‎11:53 AM).
After restarting the server, I could create a dashboard, apply a template, create an OLAP selector, and save the dashboard. I could access the dashboard after closing it.
Whatever was in that CDE update that they rolled out today, in my opinion works to the advantage of this issue.

Yeah, now I'm having issues trying to execute a PRPT with the component. Just won't work. I'm going to try to move the PRPT into the directory with the dashboard files...

I am experiencing this error when saving CDE Dashboard edits.

    [15:31:00.709] POST http://localhost:7070/pentaho/plugin.../saveDashboard [HTTP/1.1 400 Bad Request 20246ms]

Both CDE and CDF are TRUNK version upgraded using the Marketplace.

The strange thing is, just a couple of seconds prior, the saveDashboard works just fine.

that's weird. Can you open a bug at jira.pentaho.com (CDE project) ?

Also, please provide info about your environment (server OS, client OS and browser you're using).

    thanks!

    UPDATE:
The above problem only happens when I access the Pentaho server using IP address and modified port 7070 (instead of the default 8080).
I setup an Apache to Tomcat AJP tunnel and access the Pentaho this way, the problem disappears. Strange, but at least I can work on my dashboards now.
