Thread: Mail step works in Linux, not in Win7

  1. #1

Default Mail step works in Linux, not in Win7

The attached KJB (username and password changed) works on CentOS, but does not work in Windows 7. I get the following error in windows:

    Code:
Problem while sending message: javax.mail.AuthenticationFailedException: No authentication mechansims supported by both server and client
What is going on? What can I try to work around this?

    Linux version:
PDI Version - Kettle - Spoon Stable Release - 4.4.0
OS version CentOS release 6.4 (Final)
    Java version - 1.7.0_25

    Windows version:
PDI Version - Kettle - Spoon Stable Release - 5.0.1
    OS version Win 7
    Java version - 1.7.0_45

Both are connecting to the same version of Outlook SMTP at the same address with the same username/password

If no one has experienced this, should I file a bug report? Where/how do I do that?

    To report bugs:

You need to create an account first.

Searching the web, it seems that there are some changes with JavaMail API which affects Exchange servers.
Since you're not using the same version of Java nor the same version of PDI in both locations, it's hard to identify what's going on.

I'd try using PDI 4.4.0 on your Windows box, and then if that doesn't work, try Java 1.7.0_25 on your windows box with PDI 4.4.0.
